Acushnet Conservation Commission Approves Septic Repair at 50-Home Mobile Home Park

ACUSHNET — October 8, 2025 — Acushnet Conservation Commission clears way for septic overhaul at 50-home mobile home park. The commission voted unanimously at its October 8 meeting to issue a negative determination for Brookside Realty Trust's plan to remove and replace a failing mound-style leaching system at 1094 Main Street, where approximately 50 homes share a single system that has been deteriorating for roughly 18 months. Engineer David Devinion of Schneider, Devinion, and Leone told commissioners investigators found a cracked pipe, a leaking pump chamber vent, and a septic tank with seams so compromised that "water was pouring in." All contaminated soil will be excavated and hauled off site, with the project completed in two phases to keep part of the system in service. Two solar cases — a 4,999-kilowatt battery storage project on Park Drive and the Clemsway Solar ground-mounted array at 1094 Main Street — were continued to October 22, as was a residential pool-and-cabana application at 12 Arches Way after the applicant's engineer failed to appear.
