Acushnet Select Board Grants VFW Alcohol License, Updates Town Permit Fees

ACUSHNET — December 23, 2025 — Acushnet Select Board approves VFW all-alcohol club license and raises permit fees for 2026. Meeting on December 23, the two-member board unanimously granted a new Club All Alcohol License to the Thomas E. Tuttle Post, VFW Post 7203, with Paul Robitaille named as manager of the 2,320-square-foot facility. The board also unanimously approved a 2026 Class 2 dealer license for Jarrod's Auto Wholesalers LLC (Gem Auto Sales) and a Common Victualer license for High C's, whose new owner, identified as Mr. Plant, resolved a long-standing parking dispute by purchasing an adjacent lot. An updated permit and license fee schedule, described by a board member as user fees to offset staff costs and still "well below the going rate of different towns in the area," was approved to take effect January 1, 2026. The board then entered executive session on United Steelworkers Union collective bargaining strategy and did not return to public session.
