Acushnet Select Board Appoints Michelle Gilbo Bartlett Council on Aging Director

Acushnet Select Board fills Council on Aging director post and clears a weekend farm event permit. Meeting without Chairman Gasper, the board unanimously appointed Michelle Gilbo Bartlett, who said her background is in "program development and implementation," to start September 21. Board members also approved and waived the fee for a We Folk Farms open house set for September 12 and 13 on Lake Street, timed to Apple Peach Fest weekend.
Town Administrator LaMontagne told the board sealed bids on a roughly $1.5 million road resurfacing contract, with one- and two-year renewal options, are due September 25. He said the town also secured $156,000 in state funds after learning it had to formally apply for them, and that $47,500 approved at town meeting will fund town hall and parking lot roof repairs now going out to bid.
