Acushnet School Committee Unanimously Approves Two High School Tuition Agreements

ACUSHNET — March 30, 2026 — Acushnet School Committee approves tuition agreements with New Bedford and Old Rochester, securing high school placements for town students. The committee, which does not operate its own high school, voted 5-0 on each agreement at its March 30 meeting. Superintendent Dr. Bailey presented the contracts, which cover tuition, transportation, extracurricular access, and special education services. The New Bedford agreement runs five years; the Old Rochester Regional agreement runs five years with a ten-year extension option. Both receiving districts had already approved the agreements unanimously. "I'm really proud of the work that this committee did," Dr. Bailey said, noting that the process began with a December 2025 decision.
