Acushnet School Committee Honors Dozens for Spring 2025 MCAS Achievement

ACUSHNET — February 11, 2026 — Acushnet School Committee held a formal recognition ceremony for spring 2025 MCAS honorees. Superintendent Dr. Bailey and School Committee Chairman Ron Hood delivered opening remarks praising students across two categories — exceptional performance, including perfect scores, and exceptionally high academic growth. Mrs. Chesney, principal of Acushnet Elementary School, presided over the presentation, calling students currently in grades four through eight to the risers by name, including those who could not attend in person. Bailey told students that growth "matters and it deserves to be celebrated," while Hood told honorees their results reflect "sustained effort, resilience, and a willingness to challenge yourself." No votes or formal business were conducted at the meeting.
