Acushnet Planning Board approves two lot subdivisions, continues solar bylaw rewrite
Planning Board · Meeting of September 3, 2026
Acushnet Planning Board clears two lot divisions, keeps building a solar bylaw rewrite. Engineer Michael Koska of Michael J. Koska & Associates won unanimous approval to split 21 Cushing Lane into lots of 243 and 323 feet of frontage for owners Jose Gomes and Rebecca Wood-Gomes.
Engineer Matt Leone of Schneider, Davignon & Leone secured a second unanimous approval for a new 60,086-square-foot house lot at 734 Main Street. A separate site plan review for 72 South Main Street was continued to September 17 pending peer review. Town Planner Victoria Alfaro told the board she wants to replace tree-replanting rules with a per-tree "solar tree fund," add a two-year watering requirement for screening plants, and close a fencing "loophole" she said let a see-through fence stand near a solar array, warning, "I don't want what happened on Morse's Lane to happen again."
