Acushnet Planning Board Continues Special Permit Hearing, Approves ANR Plan and Covenant Release

ACUSHNET — July 16, 2026 — Acushnet's Planning Board, meeting with only three members, deferred a special permit hearing and approved two land actions at its July 16 session. Vice Chair Richard Ellis presided in the absence of Chair Mark Francois, and with Members Peter Giampa and Bryan Deschamps completing the quorum, the board lacked the four members required to conduct the scheduled special permit hearing for a Mendall Road and Perry Hill Road property, opening and immediately continuing it to August 6, 2026. The board did approve a revised Approval Not Required plan for the same road intersection, accepting surveyor John Romanelli of Zenith Land Services's modified lot lines that expanded one parcel from 120,000 square feet to roughly 167,000 square feet at a builder's request. The board also voted to release lots three, four, and five from the Angelo Way subdivision covenant, keeping lots one and six encumbered until sidewalks, top-course paving, curbing, and the demolition of an existing house at 39 Key Street are completed.
